Leeds United target Danny Gay has not ruled out a return to Braintree Town for next season.
The 23-year-old played for Leeds in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, keeping a clean sheet in their 2-0 win at Shelbourne.
Gay is keen on a move to Elland Road and is hoping to impress Leeds boss Dennis Wise over the coming weeks.
However, there are other League club's interested in the keeper's services, including a Coca-Cola Championship outfit.
And Gay, who has had two spells at Cressing Road, is prepared to entertain the prospect of reuniting with Iron boss George Borg for a third time.
He said: "I've spoken to George.
"Braintree did very well last year and I went to the play-off final.
"George is interested in me going there and I don't discount anything but at this moment in time I'm training with Leeds United.
"I had a good time at Braintree and winning the league was great and I know some of the players there still.
"But the Football League has to be a priority for me at this stage."
Gay admitted that he has his heart set on a permanent switch to a big club.
He said: "I've played non-league football for three years for Hornchurch, Braintree and Heybridge and it's been an education for me and I've really enjoyed it.
"It's not easy and if I have to play another year at that level I'd do it.
"But my agent told me that Leeds were keen for me to come and play and I could not refuse a club of their size and potential."
Gay enjoyed playing for Leeds, who will play in Coca-Cola League One next season.
And he is hoping that it might lead to a permanent move to the Yorkshire club.
"The football club and the manager have welcomed me," said Gay, who began his career at Norwich City and has also played for Southend United.
"There were a lot of Leeds fans there and it was an honour to play for the club."
