A landowner has been left with a pile of mess to clear up after travellers moved off his land.

The rubbish, which included green waste, a toilet and even a sofa, was dumped in the woodland area of Thistley Green, Bocking.

One disgusted resident, who took this snap, said: “Travellers left this mess behind including a sofa to sit on.

“Shame on the folks who let the travellers take this waste away, only for it to be dumped.”

After travellers moved out of Bocking, it is believed the same group set up home in Mill Park Drive, Braintree, for several days.

Speaking of the clean up that took place in Mill Park Drive following their departure, a council spokesman said:  “It took around 30 minutes to litter pick the site."
