PRITI Patel has gained an increased majority to hold her position as Witham MP.
Mrs Patel gained 31,670 votes in the district, increasing her share by more than 4,000.
Witham MP since 2010, Mrs Patel admitted she was over the moon with the result
Labour's Phil Barlow trailed Mrs Patel in second with 13,024 votes.
Jo Hayes of the Liberal Democrats came third, followed by the Green party's James Abbott.
