A BUSY road was closed after a car went up in flames this morning (Saturday, April 6).
Police closed part of Rayne Road, in Braintree, after the Ford caught fire at around 9am.
It appears the driver parked the car on the pavement outside the Ford dealership when it caught fire.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a car fire in Rayne Road, Braintree at 9.09am today.
“Crews worked hard to extinguish the vehicle by 9.34am. The cause has been recorded as accidental.”
