A doctors surgery accused of profiting from patients through its 0844 telephone number insists the number will change within weeks.

Kelvedon Parish Council has criticised Kelvedon Surgery since it changed its landline number three years ago.

But practice manager Barbara Lord said: “We are in the process of changing the phone number.

“We are well aware of the rules and regulations, so is the primary care trust."
