An owner has spoken out after her dog died following an attack by two escaped staffordshire bull terriers.
Kay Haig, 50, of Church Street, Witham, was left distraught after the pair belonging to her next door neighbour burst through the garden fence and attacked her sealyham terrier Sid.
When he was taken to the vets with numerous wounds, including a collapsed lung, underlying health problems were discovered and he died days later.
Mrs Haig said: “They just ripped the fence apart and broke through and just attacked him.
“He tried to run down the garden and they just went after him and the small one had hold of his throat- it was awful."
