Politicians are lobbying a council to reinstate money for a disabled children’s playscheme.
Braintree Mencap lost about £40,000 of funding from both Essex County Council and NHS Mid Essex Primary Care Trust earlier this year.
Its playscheme and activity club for children and teenagers, which has run for nearly 50 years and helps 40 families, is now under threat.
MP Brooks Newmark and Braintree Council leader Graham Butland are lobbying Essex County Council for them to reconsider their position.
