A man was found dead in his flat by police after concerns were raised for his welfare.

Officers were called to the property in St James Road, Braintree, last Monday evening.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called to an address at about 5pm on Monday, July 30, following concerns for the welfare of the resident.

“Officers entered the property and found the body of a man aged in his 40s. There were no suspicious circumstances and a report has been sent to the coroner.”
