Leon Constantine scored one goal and made another as Braintree Town continued their impressive pre-season with a 2-1 win over Ryman League Premier side Billericay Town.
The former Leeds United and Port Vale striker, who is on trial with the Iron, helped his side take an early lead when he nodded on for Chib Chilaka to open the scoring.
And Constantine, 33, doubled that advantage after half an hour, from a Sam Lechmere cross.
Iron boss Alan Devonshire made changes at half-time and Billericay pulled a goal back in the final ten minutes through young winger Harrison Chatting, who had earlier hit the woodwork for the home side.
But Braintree held on to complete another pre-season win, with the new Blue Square Bet Premier season less than a fortnight away.
Braintree’s next pre-season friendly is at Southern League premier division side Hitchin Town on Thursday night.
