Witham Town manager Garry Kimble has strengthened his squad ahead of the start of the new Ryman League division one north season with the signings of Joe Pearman and James Stevens.
Left-sided utility man Pearman was signed after impressing in Witham’s final pre-season fixture – a 1-1 draw at Southminster – on Saturday and Kimble has also added former Southend United youth teamer James Stevens to his squad.
The 19-year-old central midfielder was released by the Shrimpers at the end of last season and played for Braintree Town when they faced Witham in pre-season last month.
However, they have lost winger Sam Taylor, who has headed to Thurrock and midfielder Bobby Port has also left the club, while Steve Joyce has gone on a month’s loan to Saffron Walden to get games and build his fitness.
