Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley expects to bring in another goalkeeper after Nick Hamann signed for the Iron’s Vanarama National League rivals Woking.
The 27-year-old German-born keeper (pictured left) won’t be returning for a third season with the Iron and Cowley admits he is looking to bring in another keeper.
“We had conversations with Nick but weren’t in a position to offer him anything and he’s taken up an offer at Woking,” he said.
“It was a difficult decision as I agree with Brian Clough and think the goalkeeper is the most important signing that you’ll make as a manager.
“It can earn you more points than probably any other player so it’s an important one for us.
“Nathan McDonald will come back and he will have an opportunity in pre-season.
“We know Nathan from his Southend days and I watched him for Braintree under Rod Stringer, but we will be be bringing someone else in as well.”
