Braintree Town are hoping to sign a young goalkeeper as back-up for first-choice Nathan McDonald.
The Iron could also be in the market to bolster their squad in other areas over the next few weeks, in a bid to freshen up the squad.
Meanwhile, Braintree are hoping that the hamstring injury suffered by striker Jamie Guy against Staines is not serious.
Former Colchester United forward Guy came off shortly after scoring Iron’s penalty to make it 1-1.
“We hope that Jamie’s injury isn’t too bad,” said boss Rod Stringer.
“We’re hoping that Colchester United will help us and let him get a bit of treatment there.”
