Two young playwrights are set to delight audiences with a production of their very own musical.
Braintree Sixth Form students Eden Stoneman, of Chestnut Avenue, and Amy Wills, of Constable Way, created their first show, called Mysteria, last year and were delighted with the response it received when it was performed at Braintree Sixth Form.
So the creative 17-year-olds decided to put their pens to paper once more, resulting in the musical production, Blair Brothers’ Bride, which will be performed on stage at the Braintree Arts Theatre on Sunday.
Set in the very familiar setting of Braintree Town, where things are not what they seem, zombie Gregor Blair and his ghost brother Vince are told by their witch and vampire mothers to find wives.
The traditional ceremony soon becomes a competition between the boys as they are prompted by the incentive, "the brother with the spouse gets the money and the house."
Whose proposal will succeed and who will be forever alone?
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £7 from braintreeartstheatre.com or 01376 556354.
All proceeds will be go towards the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
