Councillors have given their support to proposals to create a heritage list for buildings and landmarks of historic interest in the district.
The Braintree and Bocking Civic Society wants to see a list created, starting by noting all Courtauld family buildings in the area.
Braintree Council’s local development framework committee will circulate a report to local parish councils and societies to gauge interest in the project.
A heritage list, if created, could be used as a supplementary planning document, influencing future council decisions and policies.
