A Dickensian Day is returning to Witham next weekend for the second time following the success of last year’s event.
The Newland’s Shopping Precinct will be at the heart of the activities on Saturday 30 where will be a range of stalls selling Christmas goodies, a Christmas market, activities and demonstrations and displays including stalls selling jewellery, selling hot chestnuts, teddies and Christmas gifts and face painting stands.
Dee Halliday, secretary for the town mayor and one of the organisers of the event, is hoping that this year’s event will be as successful.
She said: “We will have the Witham Big Sing and hopefully the Little Sing too, the Salvation Army will be playing carols and there will be clog-dancing from the Alive and Kicking dance troupe.
"The Witham District Lions and Lionesses lion, Father Christmas and a magician will be there and there will also be an amusement ride for children and the stall holders should be dressing up too."
The event will run between 10am and 3pm on November 30 in The Newlands Precinct, Witham.
