PUPILS won prizes at the British Schools Orienteering Championships.
Orienteering teams from St Andrew's Primary School, in Mathews Close, and pupils from Hedingham School took part in the competition held in Shipley Park, Derbyshire on November 17.
St Andrews pupils were awarded the Year Five boys trophy and the Primary Schools winner’s shield, while Lucy Walker, Rosy Bird and Evie Amos achieved silver medals in the Year 5 Girls event.
There were impressive individual times from Harrison Dixey, Thomas Martin Zac Poter, Oliver Pringle, Bradley Cattermole, Ben Partridge and Ben Styman-Heighton, Tommy Harrington and Tom Turner.
The five Hedingham School pupils also performed well, with the Year Eight girls team, Daisy Partridge, Cerys Wrigley-Moss and Chloe Cracknell, winning the overall team silver medal and Daisy, who came third, was also awarded an individual bronze medal.
The Year Ten boys team, Josh Partridge and Lucas Wrigley-Moss, completed their course with good finishing times.
