A desperate plea for volunteers to keep a Braintree community hall open has resulted in offers of help.
Hall trustee Tony Everard had feared a lack of committee members for Glebe Community Hall could have resulted in its closure.
But following an appeal in last week’s Times, its future is now looking brighter.
District councillor Mr Everard said: “The Glebe Community Hall Committee are pleased with the number of people who have responded to the article in last week’s BWT, requesting more volunteers.
“This will help us for the future.
“We are grateful to those who answered and of course we would welcome any more active volunteers to come forward to join in our success in running this hall for the community.
“We have great plans for even more improvements of the facilities.”
