A school has been celebrating after taking ownership of its new tennis courts.
Maltings Academy pupils and staff were on site at the new Witham Leisure Centre as the tennis courts were given to them by Braintree Council.
The academy has already taken ownership of a netball court at the same site.
Head of PE Ray Bias said: “It is a fantastic opportunity to have the brand new tennis courts available to play.
“Particularly during this time of year when the grass is not always playable, it allows for another hard surface area to be utilised.
“The tennis courts themselves are fantastic, the flooring allows for maximum grip even when wet and the nets are top quality.
“We have already had pupils out playing tennis in the first couple of weeks even with the weather as cold as it has been.”
