A train operator has pledged to improve its services on the Braintree branch line following commuters’ stinging criticism.
Greater Anglia's managing director, Ruud Haket said: "We are sorry that Braintree line passengers have suffered a period of unsatisfactory performance.
“We take their concerns very seriously and we are implementing specific actions to address those issues, focused on the key areas of service punctuality and reliability, crowding and communication."
Commuter Nathalie Rose, a PA who catches the train from Cressing, said: “We had no heating on the trains all last week and it was been absolutely freezing.
“But hopefully they’re moving in the right direction to improve the service.”
