A man is fighting for his life following a crash on the A12.

Police were contacted about 9.50pm yesterday with reports of a collision on the A12 northbound at Kelvedon.

A Red Fiat Punto and white Renault panel van were involved.

A police spokesman said: “The driver of the Punto, a man in his 60s, suffered a head injury and was taken to Colchester Hospital. His injuries are believed to be life threatening.”
