The amount of unemployed people claiming benefits has dropped for the 11th month in a row.
Last month, 1,816 people in Braintree district claimed Jobseekers’ Allowance (JSA), a reduction of 100 from November.
The total of JSA claimants amounts to 1.9 per cent of residents aged 16 to 64, compared to the national figure of 2.9 per cent.
Witham MP Priti Patel said: "Today's announcement is good news as it shows more people in Witham getting into work.
"I commend the efforts of local businesses that are doing so much to create jobs and employment opportunities for my constituents."
