Members of Witham Industrial Watch met with representatives from Parliament, Essex Police and local government at the Launch of Business Improvement District 2014 (BID) held at Tiptree Patisserie.
The launch marked five successful years of BID 2009, which saw businesses on Witham's industrial estates working with the Police to reduce criminal activity, and highlighted proposals for the 2014 campaign.
The proposal document with plans for the next five years will be delivered to each business on the industrial estates and the rate payers will then have an opportunity to vote Yes or No in the July ballot.
MP Priti Patel, Mayor of Witham councillor Corrine Thompson and councillor Chris Siddall attended the meeting alongside directors of the Witham Industrial Watch and District Commander, Chief Inspector Richard Melton.
