Parking restrictions at a Witham supermarket have been relaxed after customers complained that they were not given long enough to shop.
Private company Parking Eye has sent £85 fines to those parking longer than two hours at Morrisons car park, in Braintree Road, since August, sparking multiple complaints from shoppers.
Since September branch manager Paul Wade raised concerns to his area manager and regional director and this week successfully celebrated an increase from two hours to three hours.
The restrictions were put in place to stop people parking in Morrisons’ car park, when using the trains or walking into the town centre.
Mr Wade said: “We have had quite a few customers concerned ever since they put it in and since then I have been writing to everybody to try and get it increased."
