Primary school children took a step back in time by boarding the RMS Titanic in a special event to promote reading.
Pupils at Powers Hall Academy, in Spa Road, Witham, dressed in period outfits, visited a specially-built ship in their playground and enjoyed Titanic-themed activities to learn about one of the most famous shipwrecks of all time.
Children, who were all given a name of a passenger on the ship, researched who they were, their class and what happened to them during the fateful day in April 1912.
