Witham MP Priti Patel has visited the town’s ambulance station and met with the chief executive of East of England Ambulance Service, Robert Morton.
During the visit Ms Patel discussed the turnaround in the trust’s performance over the last two years and the improvements planned under Mr Morton's leadership.
Ms Patel said: “The Ambulance Trust has come a long way over the last couple of years with significant improvements in its performance following changes in leadership.
"Investment in staffing and new ambulances has taken place and the Trust is now moving forward with Mr Morton already making a positive impact in his first six months at the helm."
Mr Morton said: “It was a pleasure to meet with Priti Patel and discuss the on-going improvements we are striving to achieve.
"It is heartening to know that Priti is keenly interested in seeing the Ambulance Service continue to improve our services to patients as well as the working life of our colleagues.
"As an MP and Government Minister, the significant interest Priti has shown in what we are doing for patients and staff is warmly welcomed and appreciated by all of my colleagues.”
