A GROUP of charitable youngsters raised money for charity by completing a sponsored water carry.

The 1st Witham Beavers had decided to raise money for WaterAir after they had been taught about the importance of clean, safe water as part of the A Million Hands Scouting project.

The Beavers made water filters and Tippy Taps and learnt about good hand washing techniques.

To raise money, the members filled up empty Smartie tubes, filled them up with water and were sponsored by loved ones to carry them across the field at the Scout headquarters.

In total they raised £295, which has been donated to WaterAid and will be used to provide safe drinking water for people around the globe.
