AN MP took a tour of two very different care facilities to find out about the work they do.
Witham MP Priti Patel visited the Paton and Lee Equine surgery, based at Hoo Hall in Rivenhall, on Friday.
The vets, who have been based in Rivenhall for more than 30 years, specialise in equine health and run an emergency call out service for the local rural community.
Ms Patel said: “Paton and Lee are a highly regarded and respected local vets providing important services to rural communities in my constituency and across the County.
"I was very impressed to see the array of modern technology they use to treat and look after horses, ponies and donkeys.”
“This surgery has grown in recent years and I will be looking at ways to assist them in securing improved signage to guide customers to their premises.”
Ms Patel also visited St Georges Nursing Home on Avenue Road in Witham, meeting with the manager, care assistants and residents.
She said: “It was a delight to visit this facility and see the care they provide to their residents.
"They have a good record supporting their residents, especially those with disabilities, and providing a high standard of care.”
“I had a good meeting with the manager and staff and discussed the care they provide and the challenges the care sector faces.”
Tina Townsend, chairman of the Witham Chamber of Commerce, was also present at both visits.
