A LOCAL MP has met with a community council to discuss strategies.
Witham MP Priti Patel met with the Rural Community Council of Essex today at their offices in Feering last week.
The RCCE, set up in 1992, is an independent charity of more than 400 members and works to help rural communities achieve a sustainable future.
During the meeting, Ms Patel discussed the RCCE's strategic plan, the funding schemes they manage for rural communities, and their campaigning for better rural infrastructure and services.
She said: "Our rural communities make a tremendous contribution to our economy and our wonderful places to live.
"The RCCE do some fantastic work supporting our rural communities to thrive and I was pleased to discuss the actions they are taking on planning, housing, crime and other issues.
"Throughout the Witham constituency we have some of England's most incredible and beautiful villages and countryside.
"Charities like the RCCE make a positive difference to preserve the character of rural areas while helping them to modernise and innovate."
