THE MP for Witham has supported patients' requests for a minor injuries unit in the town.
Priti Patel responded to results found in a survey, taken by a Patient Participation Group at Witham Health Centre.
The survey, taken by 292 people, found patients also wanted better access for early commuters, and direct travel to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
Ms Patel said: "These results confirm that patients and residents are crying out for greater integration in local health care and service provision, as well as increased flexibility around access for commuters.
"This can only be delivered through the new, multipurpose and integrated health centre in Witham Town which myself, Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, Braintree Council and local stakeholders are working towards.
"Having met with Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group and their project team I know that these findings will supplement their own work to advance the case for a new health centre in Witham town.
"In addition, hospital access for patients is vitally important and I am working with our local hospitals under the Government’s Essex Success Regime programme for the NHS to bring the necessary improvements to patient care and services across our hospitals."
