A family-friendly retro inspired restaurant chain is opening in Witham town centre, bringing 25 new jobs to the high street.
Loungers, the West Country based eatery group, opens its latest site in the former HSBC bank building in Newland Street on Wednesday, June 27.
The building has been completely refitted to create Valero Lounge - which will now employ 25 part and full-time staff.
A huge mural picturing the Knights Templar - famously associated with nearby Cressing Temple Barns - has been created for the terrace, with the rest of the site being decorated in Loungers’ trademark eclectic style.
The all-day menu hopes to offer something for everyone, from all-day brunch to burgers as well vegan, gluten-free and a wide-array of special children’s options.
A selection of games, books, pads and colouring materials are available to keep youngsters busy whilst in the restaurant, which has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
A community notice board is featured to help publicise events in Witham, and a book swap area will be kept well stocked for customers.
Staff plan to hold regular fundraising events for various good causes throughout the year.
Klive Roberts, operations manager for Loungers, said: “We’re really looking forward to throwing open the doors at Valero Lounge and showing the locals how to lounge in style.
“We’re very family-friendly and well-practised at keeping the little ones happy.
“The team at Valero Lounge is also looking forward to becoming party of the community and will support local groups and initiatives wherever possible.”
