A PUB has revealed its Christmas Specials menu – and there's a bit more on there than a traditional roast.

The Astronomer, which is just off the A131 at Great Notley, has put together a slightly alternative menu for the Christmas season.

It includes a Festive Turkey Burger, a Fried Turkey Katsu curry, Christmas Mac and Cheese and a seasonal twist on Hungry Horse’s popular ‘Mix It Up’ Big Plate Special.

Sides include the ultimate Christmas dinner staple Pigs in Blankets, Loaded Roasties – roast potatoes topped with chopped pigs in blankets, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy – and one that’s sure to divide opinion .... Battered Sprouts.

There is also a Christmas Pudding Sundae: Warm Christmas pudding layered with chocolate and vanilla flavour ice creams, drizzled with toffee sauce and topped with whipped cream.

The Christmas Specials are available at the Astronomer and other Hungry Horse pubs.
