MORE than 53, 984 people in Braintree have now received at least their first dose of a coronavirus vaccination.
The latest available data from the NHS, which only takes into consideration jabs given out up until March 14, shows 44 per cent of people aged 16 and over in the district have received their vaccinations.
More than 39,890 of those residents were over the age of 55. while more than 14,094 were aged between 16 and 54.
Meaning 79 per cent of over 55s have now received theirs first dose.

Across England over 21 million people have received their first dose.
That includes 14.5 million people aged 55 and over – 85% of the age group.
The Government has pledged to offer vaccinations to everyone aged over 50 by the end of April.
Yesterday the Prime Minister Boris Johnson received his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine after the European Medicines Agency has said the jab is a ‘safe and effective vaccine' after its use was suspended by multiple countries.
