A SCHOOL is celebrating after being nominated for a prestigious award.
Staff at St Andrew’s Junior School in Hatfield Peverel were delighted to hear that they have been nominated in the Whole Team and Entire School categories of the Essex Teaching Awards.
The awards recognise and celebrate the inspirational work of school staff across Essex.
Headteacher Becky Black said: “It’s hard to put into words what a difficult year this has been for our school and the families which attend. It is lovely to see how the hard work has been recognised by those nominating us.
“Now that we are back at school we continue to make sure that every child is ‘loved and known’ and has the opportunity to ‘shine’ through our broad, balanced and exciting curriculum.”
The nomination recognised Mrs Black and the teaching staff for help making the school “great and fun” during the pandemic.
It said: “The headteacher, Mrs Black, along with the whole teaching staff team have put in a lot of work to making the school a great, fun and educational place for the children to be and have gone above and beyond to keep everyone safe during the pandemic.”
