AFTER months of closure indoor hospitality venues have welcomed customers back.
On Monday, revellers were once again able to enjoy food and drink indoors as pubs, restaurants and cafes opened their doors as part of the next stage of lockdown easing.
To mark the occasion mayor of Witham, Councillor Angela Kilmartin visited several businesses across the town for an official reopening.
Mayor Kilmartin said: "May I thank all the owners, managers, cooks, chefs, waiting staff and customers who welcomed me.
"Throughout the day I visited eight wonderful and varied venues with foods from England, China and India.
"Sticking to the COVID rules as they are now, I went through breakfast and coffee to dinner not missing lunch and tea.
"Very special mention should go to AKA in Newland Street for hosting a large group of vaccinators, nurses, volunteers and doctor for a free thank you lunch.
"So well done Witham. We do love our eateries."
