PD Diesel (right) helped officers track down the driver who fled from the police
A COURT date has now been set for a driver who fled on foot after failing to stop for police and crashing his car into a ditch.
The driver failed to stop for officers of Maldon’s police team at The Endway, Althorne on May 15.
The car then sped away before crashing and the driver got out and tried to escape on foot before being caught.
The officers, working with the National Police Air Service’s south east region and PD Diesel of the Essex Police dog section, managed to arrest the driver on a string of offences.
The 19-year-old man from Tiptree has now been charged with failure to stop when directed, careless driving, and no insurance.
He is due to appear in court on June 11.
