The heatwave may be coming to an end as parts of Essex are hit by heavy rain and storms.
Pictures captured in Bocking by Mark Beaumont show just how much rain fell on Tuesday afternoon.
The Met Office extended its thunderstorm warning to the east of England yesterday, warning heavy showers could lead to localised flooding and travel disruption.
As much as 60mm of rain fell in just a few hours as parts of Essex saw lightening, large hail and intense rainfall.

TV chef Jamie Oliver spoke of his shock after extreme weather put a stop to filming for his Christmas show.
The Essex-born TV star and cook bought Spains Hall in Finchingfield back in 2019 and is understood to have been filming there yesterday.
Videos showed shelters had been destroyed and Jamie said the film crew were working to see what was damaged and get new equipment.
