A NEW high street delivery service has launched which give residents the chance to support more than 30 independent shops across the Braintree district.
Residents can now have some of their favourite local goods delivered to their door thanks to the new Click It Local service in the area.
The service enables residents to buy items online which will be delivered on the same day from local shops.
People can buy anything from weekly food essentials, gifts and treats to last-minute basics.
It means they can buy everything they need from as many shops as they like, with just one payment and one delivery.
The service has come to the Braintree area after launches in Colchester, Chelmsford, Uttlesford Maldon and Tendring.
The company says its aim is to support local independent shops in the area in a bid to take on national brands and retailers.
Click It Local founder Steve Koch said: “We are delighted that so many stores have signed up to the service in Braintree.
“Our mission is to help save high streets and independent stores across the UK by making shopping local easier and faster.
“We hope to further expand our services to independents throughout Essex, encourage local shops to sign up to Click It Local and for the community to support their local shops.”
More than 30 outlets have signed up to join the service in the Braintree district.
These include everything from takeaway restaurants to heritage sites.
Daren McGrath, managing director of Tiptree Patisserie, said: "When covid hit, we had to adapt our business from a trade only business, to offering a home delivery service as well.
"Our home deliveries have taken off and our customers wanted a better range of delivery days.
"Since working with Click It Local, we have been able to offer a bigger online range and get to our customers quicker than ever before."
Businesses involved include Spice Zone and Les Fleurs from Halstead, Amy’s Pet Supplies and the Natural Way in Braintree, Colne Valley Railway, Tuffon Hall Vineyard in Castle Hedingham and the Wonky Wheel Gallery in Finchingfield.
Residents can order from any local or independent shop signed up to the scheme and have their goods delivered to them the same or next day if the order is placed before 1pm.
Click it Local started in Cambridge last year and its success saw it grow to Brighton, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire and London.
Mr Koch is encouraging more customers to support their high streets by continuing to shop local and for independent businesses to sign up for the new service.
