AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by police after a man has died following an incident on a busy road.
Essex Police officers were called at 11.20am on Thursday for concerns of the welfare of a man at a layby on the A120 in Braintree.
The A120 at Galleys Corner was closed both ways due to the incident.
The closure was between the Galley's Corner Roundabout and the Marks Farm Roundabout.
Ambulance services have also attended the scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Sadly, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"We are investigating the circumstances to establish what happened.
"We are no longer on scene and the road is reopened."
