ESSEX Police are investigating a burglary that took place at a Co-op store in Great Notley.
The Co-op on Panners Parade was burgled shortly after 12.15am this morning, Friday January 7.
Police received a number of calls from members of the public reporting a vehicle had been used to break into the shop.
When officers attended, they found that a standalone ATM had been taken and major damage was caused to the front of the shop.
A vehicle was recovered close to the store and is forming part of the investigation, which officers say is 'moving at pace.'
No arrests have currently been made.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We have spoken to a number of witnesses and obtained accounts and information from them and we are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information on the incident who has not yet spoken to us to please come forward.
