MORE trees have been planted as part of a jubilee project.
Terling Primary School took part in the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme, planting dozens of trees.
Thirty children and their teachers from the Leylands class went to Lord Rayleigh’s Farm to take part in the project.
The children were joined by Freddie Strutt, Jeremy Gibb and Keith Dawson from Lord Rayleigh’s Farm, and the parish council’s Sarah McNamara.
The trees planted included maple, rowan, silver birch and wild cherry on private land close to Terling village playground.

The children learnt about the importance of trees and the differences between the species before putting on their wellies to plant one tree each.
Jacob Hewitt, age nine, said: “I can’t wait until I’m an adult and the trees are taller than we are.”
Headteacher Sarah Meares added: “It was such a positive morning. The children made a moment in history, and I hope they keep visiting them to seeing them grow.”
