Having recently been named runners up at the NW Essex Indoor Athletics Championships, the children at Howbridge have been making their mark on sports tournaments throughout Essex.
Team captain Becket Crossman said: “It was a great day. I’d been looking forward to it for ages and getting the opportunity to play alongside my school mates was brilliant.
“We worked really well together as a team, especially with the help of our brilliant coach, Mr Howlett.”
Damon Howlett, PE Leader at Howbridge C of E Junior School, added: “We value sport highly at Howbridge.
“It’s great to get the pupils playing competitively and trying out new activities.
"Some children here have not played rugby competitively before, and now they want to join the local Witham Rugby Club. That’s what it’s all about.”
