A SHOPPING village held its first big event since reopening, as fans turned out in force to see classic cars on display.
Petersifled Village in Gosfield, opened its newly-refurbished doors at a grand ceremony in April, and held its first big public event at the weekend.
Despite poor weather, hundreds of visitors came along for the MGB and Sports Car show.
The vehicles, which included classics from the MG Owners' Club and MG Car Club, started arriving from about 7.30am and the field was full just two hours later.
The show included a range of vehicles from classic MGBs and MGCs, MGAs, a Mercedes 190SL, and plenty of classic pre-1990 cars.
Visitors were out in their droves, and after viewing the huge variety of cars, spent time in the village shops and cabinet room, where they enjoyed live music from duo Loxley’s Corner, gin and tonic from Tipsy Bubbles, and snacks and lunches from Fox in The Stables Tearooms.
Petersfield Village directors Charles Dawson said: “We are so pleased with the way our first big show turned out, it seemed like everyone had a great time.
“Visitors and exhibitors alike and we are looking forward to our next event, a big antiques fair, on the 23rd and 24th of July.”
