OFFICERS are investigating reports of a burglary of a town supermarket.
Essex Police are looking into a reported burglary of Tesco in the Grove Shopping Centre in Witham.
Despite the break-in, Tesco opened as normal on Monday, however, according to reports from the community, the self-service tills were not operating.
It was also reported there was a heightened police presence around the shop on Monday morning, including both officers and dogs.
Police received reports of the burglary shortly before 3am in Monday and launched a probe following the event.
A spokesman said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to get in touch.
