A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital following a severe collision involving two vehicles.
Emergency services were called to the B1024 Colne Road yesterday morning at around 7.10am.
The collision occurred between Earls Colne and Coggeshall near the Blackwell Farm Shop.
The road was shut in both directions by Essex Police while worked was undertaken to clear the wreckage.
A witness at the scene also said a woman involved in the collisions was rushed to hospital.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Services were also called to help release a casualty from a vehicle.
A spokesman for ECFRS said: "Crews from Coggeshall and Tiptree were called to Colne Road, Coggeshall today following a collision involving two vehicles.
"They worked to release a casualty from a vehicle who was then left in the care of the ambulance crews on scene."
A spokesman for Essex Police added: "We are currently on scene of a two-car collision at Coggeshall.
"We were called to Colne Road at 7.05am today by colleagues in ambulance service."
