A SHOPPING village is jumping back in time as it stages a Tudor weekend.
Petersfield Village in Gosfield is hosting a Tudor weekend and craft fair next weekend.
It follows on from a number of successful events staged by the village this year including boot sales and car shows.
The Tudor event is being staged by The Companye of Merrie Folke, an experienced Tudor re-enactment group which will be setting up its encampment on the area behind the village.
Formed in 2012, the aims of the group are to bring the past to life and engender a love and better understanding of history.
On the two days of the event, there will be many Tudor characters present to bring the historic era to life including a barber-surgeon, man-at-arms, a cunning man, and basket maker.
Visitors can also interact and talk with the group to see how their lives were in the 1500s.
There will also be activities on the day from lessons in self-defence and longbow practise.
Entry is £3, with children going for free.
The fair is on Saturday October 8 and Sunday October 9.
