AN engineering company has been awarded a top certification for the aerospace industry.

Globe Engineering Ltd, a manufacturer of precision engineered components based in Braintree, has been awarded AS9100 quality management systems standard for aviation, space, and defence organisations.

To mark the achievement, Auva Certification, the UKAS accredited awarding certification body, presented the certification to Globe Engineering at its offices in Braintree.

Globe Engineering passed a rigorous inspection to achieve the AS9100 certification, covering the design and manufacture of tooling, precision manufacturing and assembly, defence, aerospace and nuclear sectors.

Globe Engineering say this achievement reflects its commitment to the aerospace industry and its customers.

The standard also provides Globe Engineering with an increased opportunity for growth and expansion in the sector.

Managing director at Globe Engineering Chris Howarth said: "We are delighted to achieve AS9100.

“In a competitive marketplace, achieving this certification has been part of a strategic drive to improve and enhance our business processes and operational excellence to ensure our products and services meet the highest standards required in the aerospace industries.”

CEO at Auva Certification Michael Venner added: “We congratulate Chris and his team on their certification success.

“The aerospace industry is a high-risk sector and regulatory control is needed to capture the requirements and the importance of safety, reliability or maintainability on a global level.

“With the ever-changing demands of their industry marketplace, certification to AS9100 can bring real improvements in business processes and customer satisfaction.”
