A COUNCIL is investigating following an allegation that dog breeding has taken place without a licence.
Braintree Council is appealing for information following the allegation and trying to discover the whereabouts of the puppies and their mother.
Anyone operating a business of breeding dogs without a licence is committing an offence and legal action can be taken against them.
A council spokesman said: “Braintree District Council are responsible for granting animal activity licences to individuals who sell animals as pets, dog breeding as well as the provision of animal boarding.
“We are currently investigating an allegation that dog breeding has taken place without an animal activity licence being in place within our district.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has any information regarding the attached images, especially if anyone has purchased one of the puppies or has any information regarding the whereabouts of these puppies and their mother.
