MUSIC fans can take an express ride through an evening of pure nostalgia as Soul Train steams back into action in the New Year.
After selling more than a million concert tickets for his Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular show, Wayne Kennedy returned to his teenage roots and love of soul and rhythm and blues music to create a brand new theatrical production .
The show is packed with a fine feast of soulful gems.
Harking back to those wonderful days when the dance floor was king, it is a fun presentation of 60s and 70s soul classics, from the early soul days of Tamla Motown, Stax and Atlantic records though to disco and beyond as the show brings on the good times.
Featured in a feel-good production are classic hit songs by Stevie Wonder, the Isley Brothers, Supremes, Gladys Knight, O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Ike and Tina Turner, Donna Summer, Candi Staton, Whitney Houston, Billy Ocean, Lionel Richie, Tavares and many more great artists who still have what it takes to keep audiences singing and dancing.
The anthems include a mixture of big dance tunes and wonderful ballads delivered by six amazing lead vocalists.
The Stage described the show as “superb - remarkable - tremendously entertaining”, while the BBC said “magnificent”.
Soul Train is at Witham Public Hall on January 6. The show starts at 7.30pm and doors open at 7pm.
Tickets are £19.95 on 0345 017 8717 or from the visitor information centre at Witham Town Hall.
