A MAN was sent to hospital after being stabbed by a gang in an alleyway.
Officers were called to Epping Way in Witham shortly after 1pm on Monday, January 9, following reports of a man being seriously assaulted.
The victim - a 20-year-old man - was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and a fractured leg.
The assault occurred next to an alleyway leading to Halcyon Close.
The suspects, believed to be a group of four or five men, fled the scene in a BMW X5 and a Ford Kuga.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with further information following the incident.
