A BUILDING was saved by firefighters after a fire broke out in the corner of the barn.
Firefighters from Chelmsford, Great Dunmow and Leaden Roding fire stations rushed to High Easter Road in Barnston yesterday after reports of a fire.
They were called at about 10.14am and upon arrival found an agricultural building, measuring around 20 metres by 25 metres was completely smoke-logged.
There was a small fire in the corner of the building.
The crews limited the spread of the flames which saved the structure of the building.
A full investigation will be carried out into the cause of the fire.
The farmer and farm staff have been thanked for their assistance and teamwork during the incident.
Watch manager Mark Nevill, of Leaden Roding fire station, said: "I'd like to thank the farmer and farm staff for their assistance and teamwork.
"Our firefighters did a fantastic job of limiting the fire spread and ultimately saved the structure of the building."
